Doug Collins may no longer be the front-runner for the Chicago Bulls job.

According to a source close to the situation, former Minnesota Timberwolves coach Dwane Casey's interview with Bulls general manager John Paxson on Wednesday went extremely well, and he has emerged as a legitimate candidate.

Paxson also interviewed Sacramento Kings assistant Chuck Person earlier in the week.

Several media outlets reported last week that Collins would get another chance to coach the Bulls. One source told FOXSports.com that Paxson and Collins, currently a television analyst, had come to a verbal agreement.

However, team chairman Jerry Reinsdorf has reservations about Collins, fearing that hiring him could put a strain on their close relationship.

If the 51-year-old Casey doesn't wind up with the Bulls job, he'll join new Dallas coach Rick Carlisle with the Mavericks.

The Bulls, the youngest team in the NBA, hold the No. 1 pick in the June 26 NBA Draft.
