Chicago Bulls Roster Report 2009-12-06

Chicago Bulls Roster Report 2009-12-06ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Derrick Rose, Shooting guard John Salmons, Small forward Luol Deng, Power forward Taj Gibson, Center Joakim Noah. Bench -- Guard Jannero Pargo, Guard Lindsey Hunter, Forward James Johnson, Center Brad Miller, Center Aaron Gray.

PLAYER NOTES:

--F Luol Deng got off to an amazing start this season, considering he spent the summer rehabbing from a stress fracture in his right shin. But he seemed to hit a wall this week. His jump shot looked flat, and in the past three games, he has averaged 11.3 points and shot less than 40 percent from the field.

--G Jannero Pargo has been hampered by persistent tightness in his back and hip since early in training camp. He said he hasn't been feeling any pain during the past three games, though, and he ended up matching John Salmons as the team's high scorer with 13 points in Saturday's loss to Toronto.

--F James Johnson hasn't been taking advantage of his most recent opportunities for playing time. He scored four points in 22 minutes at Cleveland on Friday, then fouled out in just 14 1/2 minutes against Toronto on Saturday.

MEDICAL WATCH:

--G Kirk Hinrich (sprained left thumb) was hurt during a Nov. 25 practice and was relieved when an MRI exam showed no tear in the ligament. He's missed five games but is hoping to return soon.

--F Tyrus Thomas (broken left arm) remains sidelined. A metal plate was used to repair the break during surgery on Nov. 7.

--C Jerome James (torn right Achilles) hasn't played since early last season when he was with the Knicks. No one is counting any contributions from him, but he's vowed to get healthy and play sometime this season. He's starting to run again, but he needs to pass a fitness test before he'll be allowed to practice.
