Chicago Bulls Roster Report 2009-11-09

Chicago Bulls Roster Report 2009-11-09ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Derrick Rose, Shooting guard John Salmons, Small forward Luol Deng, Power forward Taj Gibson, Center Joakim Noah. Bench -- Guard Kirk Hinrich, Guard Jannero Pargo, Guard Lindsey Hunter, Forward James Johnson, Center Brad Miller.

--F James Johnson figured to grab a spot in the rotation now that Tyrus Thomas is out with a broken arm. But he didn't produce any positive stats during a five-minute stretch against Charlotte on Saturday and did not return for the second half.

--F Luol Deng logged heavy minutes against the Bobcats, playing all but 48 seconds. The Bulls have just 10 healthy players right now and Deng often slid to power forward on Saturday while John Salmons played small forward. Deng went scoreless in the first half, but finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds against the Bobcats.

--G John Salmons came into Saturday's action averaging 11.2 points and shooting 29.6 percent from the field. He finally had a breakout game, producing 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals in the win over Charlotte.

--F Tyrus Thomas (broken left arm) is expected to be out until early December after breaking the radius in his left forearm. This was a freak accident that occurred while Thomas did a pull-up during a weightlifting session at the Berto Center. A metal plate was used to repair the break during surgery on Saturday.

--C Aaron Gray (stress fracture in left fibula) was injured early in training camp and may be ready to resume practice in mid-November. The third-year pro was re-signed to provide depth at the center position, but wasn't expected to play much.

--C Jerome James (torn right Achilles) hasn't played since early last season when he was with the Knicks. No one is counting any contributions from him, but he's vowed to get healthy and play sometime this season. It will probably be at least late November before he's ready to practice.
