Chicago Bulls Roster Report 2008-09-22

Chicago Bulls Roster Report 2008-09-22
DRAFT PICKS:

Derrick Rose, G, 6-3, Memphis -- The Bulls have promised to bring Rose along slowly, but they are counting on him to eventually change their style of play, with an emphasis on moving fast and sharing the ball.

Omer Asik, C, 7-0, Turkey -- He's expected to remain overseas for a few years while the Bulls retain his rights, but Asik is regarded as one of the top big man prospects in Europe. The 21-year-old has a solid frame and is fairly athletic.

PLAYER NOTES:

--Forward Andres Nocioni doesn't know exactly what the future holds, but said recently he has definitely not played his last game with the Argentina national team. Argentina won the bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics after capturing the gold in Athens in 2004.

--Forward Tyrus Thomas helped deliver school supplies in early September to an elementary school on Chicago's South Side, not far from the area where new teammate Derrick Rose grew up.

--Former UTEP coach Don Haskins, who died on Sept. 7, worked for the Bulls as a consultant while Tim Floyd was head coach in the early part of the decade.
