Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-05-28
--G Derrick Rose began to look forward at the end of a remarkable rookie season. Following the Game 7 loss to Boston, Rose was asked if there was anything specific he planned to work on this summer. "Yeah, becoming a leader," he said. "I've got to lead the team, try to control the game a little bit more as a point guard, and that's about it. Just looking back on this season, I learned so much. If I would have started back where I am now, we probably would have been a contender instead of .500. It's heartbreaking knowing that we can't move on. But take it for what it's worth -- we took them to Game 7 and it was fun."

--When the Bulls' first-round playoff series ended, guard Ben Gordon continued to suggest that his preference would be to re-sign with the Bulls this summer and eventually retire after a 15-year career with the team. He'll be an unrestricted free agent, though, and his future is uncertain. For two years, the Bulls and Gordon were unable to agree on a contract, and relations between management and Gordon's agent, Raymond Brothers, seemed to be rocky. "At the end of the day, it's a business," Gordon said. "I'm able to put my feelings aside and if there's animosity, the organization needs to be able to do the same thing. We're not kids in the playground arguing over a basketball. This is a business, and we need to sit down and figure something out. If there's nothing to figure out, move on and do something else."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "This is a great learning experience, and I'll remember these moments for my whole life. But I think as a team, we've got to be hungry for more." -- Center Joakim Noah, reflecting on the memorable playoff loss to Boston and what lies ahead for the Bulls.
