Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-12-13

Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-12-13--G Derrick Rose has increased the use of a running, one-handed floater this season. Asked recently why he's gone in that direction instead of driving all the way to the basket, Rose's answer made sense, considering he's averaged just 3.4 free-throw attempts per game this season. "That's what they're giving me," he said. "If I go all the way to the rim, they're not giving me (foul) calls down there. I don't know what I've got to do. So in Memphis, that's why I used my floater a lot, because they were doing the same thing to me in college."

--Fans at the United Center cheered when center Brad Miller was called for a flagrant foul against Boston guard Rajon Rondo in the first quarter of Saturday's game. Those were the players involved in the decisive play from Game 5 of last spring's playoff series, when Rondo smacked Miller in the mouth to prevent a game-tying layin in the final seconds but was not called for a flagrant. On Saturday, Rondo drove into the lane, Miller reached out to prevent an easy basket and caught Rondo around the neck. "I've been hit way harder," Rondo said after the game. "I'm not going to be intimidated by it. Next time we play, I'm going to drive and whether it's him or (Joakim) Noah or anybody, I'm still going to drive. That's what I do."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Today for the first time, I actually looked at my stats, my shooting percentages and all that stuff. Even my free throws are down; everything is down. It's not just my 3's. I don't know. I just can't get it going." -- Guard John Salmons, after scoring just four points in Saturday's loss to Boston.
