Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-12-08

Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-12-08--The Bulls offered similar suggestions for busting out of a recent slump that featured seven losses in the last eight games. Only one margin of defeat was by less than 14 points.

"I think we have to take a look at our defense," guard John Salmons said. "We're going to have nights where we don't score the ball well. Every night, we've got to come with it on defense. If stuff's not working, we have to push through with heart. That's the only way we can get out of a rut like this."

Guard Derrick Rose expressed confidence that the Bulls can still turn things around.

"Somehow, we're just going to have to click," he said. "Some teams get it early, some teams get it late. We've just got to find ours. Everybody's got to come back (to practice) focused, and everybody should be on the same page. Somehow, we've got to get over .500."

--A day after getting in a jawing match with Cleveland star LeBron James, Bulls center Joakim Noah was ejected from Saturday's loss to Toronto for getting his second technical foul at the 7:19 mark of the third quarter. Noah produced nine points and seven rebounds in limited minutes and might have been the only Bull with any chance of slowing down Chris Bosh.

"Disappointing," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "He's got to control his emotions a little bit. We've talked about that before. He's got to control those emotions and understand how important it is for him to be out on the court for us. It's a lesson to be learned."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "You're going to have days like this, but I love the challenge, I love the competition. It makes me sick to perform like that. But are you going to give up or are you going to go and fight? I'm a fighter, so I'm going to battle and do whatever I can to help, and the guys have to do the same." -- Coach Vinny Del Negro, after the Bulls were hammered at home by Toronto on Saturday.
