Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-11-22

Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-11-22--Nuggets coach George Karl suggested Joakim Noah was an all-star caliber center before facing the Bulls on Saturday. Heading into the contest, Noah led the league in rebounds at 12.6 per game and averaged 12.1 points, but he produced just 10 points and eight boards at Denver.

"I tip my hat off to the kid," Karl said. "The kid plays at an all-star level with just rebounding and hustle, and he has a belief in himself in the paint that very few young kids have. A lot of guys can have an impact on the game as a role player and an energy player. He's having an impact on the game as an energy player as a starter. That's hard to do in this league."

--After taking about seven weeks off to recover from a stress fracture in his left fibula and spending time in the hospital with a skin infection in his right knee, Center Aaron Gray is finally ready to return to the court. Gray joined the team in Denver on Saturday and expects to be able to play soon. He was supposed to be on the entire road trip, but he was delayed by the skin infection, which he said wasn't a major ordeal.

"I'm not 100 percent, but definitely real close," Gray said. "They want me to get through a few full days of practice before there's a chance of me getting in a game. It's been a long time, but I'm ready to get back and play basketball. It makes you appreciate it."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I thought our energy, our effort, the physical part of the game -- we were not near the level we need to be at. Give them credit, but I'm not pleased at all in the way we finished that game." -- Coach Vinny Del Negro, after the Bulls were outscored 37-22 in the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss at Denver.
