Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-11-19

Chicago Bulls Notes, Quotes 2009-11-19--The Bulls missed a chance to play against former teammate Andres Nocioni in Sacramento. Nocioni sat out with a right hip pointer. After 4 1/2 seasons with the Bulls, Nocioni was traded to the Kings on Feb. 18 in a deal that brought John Salmons and Brad Miller to Chicago. Nocioni was very popular among Bulls fans for his passionate play, but his rough style also made him an enemy at times on the road. "I miss that guy," Bulls center Joakim Noah said. "Yeah, it's going to be cool to see him. Noc was a great dude, someone who plays with a lot of emotion. He was somebody that you always wanted to have on your team, because the way he just fouls the heck out of people and all that. Everybody hated Noc on the road and everybody hated him on other teams. So it's going to be weird to see what those hacks feel like."

--One thing that's odd about this year's circus trip is it features no back-to-back games. The Bulls have at least one day off between every contest and are taking advantage of the schedule by staying in town after most games and holding a practice the following day before moving on to the next city. NBA teams usually go straight from the arena to the airport after road games. "I don't think there's much benefit to getting in at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "I think it wears you down even more."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We really bond on this trip, get to know each other, have fun, gel. That's what's fun about playing in the NBA. You're playing against the greatest players in the world and you get to see the whole world. It's nice to be going to the West Coast, it's nicer (weather) than here. But we need wins, that's our biggest thing." -- Guard Derrick Rose on the Bulls' annual November trip, which began Tuesday in Sacramento.
