--G Derrick Rose was supposed to be on a 30-minute limit against San Antonio on Thursday. He ended up playing 33 minutes in his return from a preseason ankle injury, which hardly seemed to matter. Rose finished with 13 points, seven assists and seven rebounds in the win. The second-year guard hadn't played since injuring the ankle in the preseason opener at Indiana on Oct. 2. He was able to get four practices in before the first game. "I was just trying to play without even thinking about my ankle and trying to win," Rose said. "In the game, I really didn't feel it." --C Joakim Noah was given some tough duty by the schedule-maker. He'll end up guarding Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett on the first two nights of the season. One very noticeable difference in Noah this year is his upper-body strength. He came back from summer break with bulging biceps. "I felt like in that (playoff) series against Boston, that's one thing I needed to do better," Noah said. "I felt like I was getting pushed around a little bit too much. It was important for me to lift a lot of weights. I feel stronger. I feel like I put on good weight, because I'm still running the floor well." QUOTE TO NOTE: "Toward the end, I was getting a little fatigued. But I wish we could play again right now. To me, the game ended too quick. I think I've got a little more in me." -- Guard Derrick Rose, after returning from a preseason ankle injury to play 33 minutes in Thursday's 92-85 win over San Antonio.
