Chicago Bulls Getting Inside 2009-11-02

Chicago Bulls Getting Inside 2009-11-02Guard Derrick Rose is getting healthier after missing most of preseason with a right ankle injury. Clearly, though, he's not quite himself.

Against Miami on Sunday, the Bulls had a good chance to win, but Rose scored just eight points and missed all four of his shots in the fourth quarter.

"It's just (from) not playing," Rose said. "It's like in the summer. It takes you a month to get in condition, you take two days off and you're out of condition. It's crazy, but I took two weeks off without really running on the court and it's hurting me right now."

Rose insisted his ankle keeps getting better, and he plans to work overtime in practice to get back in step with his impressive rookie-of-the-year season.

Rose might have a tough test Tuesday when the Bulls play host to Milwaukee. Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings has been the best rookie in the league so far, averaging 20.5 points and six assists while shooting 50 percent from the field.

Jennings took a unique path to the NBA. He didn't have the test scores to be eligible to play as a freshman at Arizona, so he spent last season in Italy and was chosen with the No. 10 pick of the draft.

The Bulls have won seven straight against the Bucks at the United Center.

HEAT 95, BULLS 87: After holding a lead most of the night, the Bulls couldn't find the basket in the fourth quarter and lost 95-87 to Miami on Sunday at American Airlines Arena. The Bulls hit just 6 of 21 shots in the fourth, but still led 83-82 with three minutes remaining. They missed 5 shots on their next three possessions and the Heat went on to finish the game with a 13-4 run.

Forward Luol Deng led the Bulls with 26 points, while guard John Salmons added 17. Guard Derrick Rose had a rough night, hitting 4 of 15 shots for 8 points. For Miami, guard Dwyane Wade scored 25 points and forward Udonis Haslem contributed 19.
